Occlusion Therapy (CR=CO)

Occlusion deals with the dental discipline of how your teeth fit together (contact between teeth) when chewing, biting down and resting. When your bite is off (malocclusion), it can lead to certain problems such as teeth and/or restorations that chip, break or crack, excessive wearing down of teeth, sore or sensitive teeth, or receding gums.

If grinding or clenching your teeth causes your malocclusion, we can treat it with splint therapy. Centric Relation equals Centric Occlusion (CR=CO) is a technique that allows the jaw joint to reside in the most orthopedically beneficial position.

This splint is designed to hold your bite in the proper position, relieving the stress and pressure on your teeth, jaw muscles and joints.
